Summary of new healthcare bill approved and released today

Summary of America's Affordable Choices Act

From a quick read, it seems to me that it's hitting all the right notes.

*  Public Option on sliding scale
*  No lifetime caps
*  Mandatory benefits
*  Guaranteed coverage for pre-existing conditions
*  Prevention and wellness clinics

I'm truly impressed.  Now let's make sure that all that stuff is really in the bill and that the Blue Dogs and their Republican friends don't try to water it down for their corporate sponsors.

If anyone wants to go through the whole 1002-page bill with a fine tooth comb, it's RIGHT HERE.

As for me - not today, I have a headache :>)

If the bluedogs water it down as to not include a public option immediately available (0.00 / 0)
to the public ( not in some vague trigger mechanism only) then I will advocate that the health care reform package be voted down.

Maybe it has to get a WHOLE lot worse before meaningful reform happens.

I am too informed to be a Republican

Democrats who oppose a public option will go down in history . . . (0.00 / 0)
as the biggest losers and hacks of all time.

It's amazing that there is only one Republican Senator who MIGHT vote for a public option - Olympia Snowe.

As for the Democrats, there is one who is definitely voting NO - Mary F#@$ing Landrieu and OVER 20 who are "on the fence."  These include - Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Tester, Feinstein, and many more.

What is wrong with this picture.  Can't someone herd these bozos back on the bus?  Of course, many Dems who are mulling over the public option seem to get a large percentage of their campaign contributions from insurance companies and healthcare corporations.  It could be just a coincidence . . . but I don't think so.

Keep your eyes on the prize and don't believe the lies!
